- Natural clay or shadu mitti (available in craft shops)
- A wooden base or small board
- A bowl of water (for shaping)
- Sculpting tools (or use spoons, knives, toothpicks)
- Natural paints or food colors (avoid chemical paints)
- Decor items: turmeric, kumkum, flowers, leaves
- Prepare the Base
- Fix clay onto a wooden board as the base for stability.
- Shape the Idol
- Start with a large clay ball for the body.
- Add smaller clay pieces to form the head, trunk, arms, and legs.
- Smoothen the surface using wet fingers.
- Add Details
- Use simple tools to carve Ganesha’s eyes, crown, and ornaments.
- Keep it minimal – natural simplicity looks beautiful.
- Dry the Idol
- Let the idol dry in shade for 2–3 days (avoid direct sunlight to prevent cracks).
- Color & Decorate
